Project overview
A leading private university in Dubai commissioned AVIPRO Technologies to modernise its entire academic estate — 42 lecture halls, 18 seminar rooms, and 6 collaborative learning pods — ahead of the new academic year. The brief called for a unified, centrally managed AV ecosystem that would support both in-person and remote learners simultaneously.
The challenge
The university's existing infrastructure was a patchwork of legacy projectors, analogue audio systems, and incompatible control interfaces installed over 15 years. Faculty reported frequent technical failures mid-lecture, and the rapid shift to hybrid teaching exposed critical gaps in remote collaboration capability. The project had a hard deadline tied to the academic calendar, leaving no room for phased delays.
Our solution
AVIPRO designed a standardised room template — a 98-inch interactive flat panel, ceiling-array microphone, dual-zone speaker system, and a Crestron touch panel — deployed consistently across all 42 lecture halls. A centralised AV management platform was integrated with the university's existing IT infrastructure, enabling the AV team to monitor, diagnose, and reboot any room remotely. Hybrid conferencing was enabled via Microsoft Teams Rooms on all primary lecture spaces.
